Meet Amanda Findley, RMT
Helping people feel more at home in their bodies since 2011.
I’m Amanda Findley (she/they), a registered massage therapist with a deep respect for the healing power of rest. There are a few things I hold with quiet reverence: the intelligence of the body, the healing power of slowing down, and the trust it takes to be cared for.
I’ve been an RMT since 2011, starting my practice in a multidisciplinary clinic in Toronto’s Church-Wellesley Village. There, I learned to recognize the hidden toll modern work takes on the body, to collaborate across disciplines, and to stay curious: clinical excellence isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about asking the right questions.
From there, I moved to the coastal islands of British Columbia, where I worked in a gorgeous spa on Salt Spring Island. It was a stunning forest sanctuary where I deepened my appreciation for nervous system support through hydrotherapy, essential oils, and the restorative rhythm of nature.
Then I got pregnant! Our family was growing, and we wanted to be closer to our support network, so we moved back to Ontario and settled in the Kingston area.
After a challenging first year of parenthood and the loss of a loved one, I found grounding part-time work at Go Green Baby—a beloved small shop supporting new and growing families. My family and I eventually took over the shop to keep it from closing, and through that experience, I gained a deeper appreciation for just how vital community is in the early parenting years.
Ultimately, challenges related to the pandemic brought that chapter to an end. But it meant that I found my way back to massage therapy and remembered this is my work. This is where I feel most grounded, confident, and inspired.
My style is slow, specific, and focused on biofeedback: listening deeply to your words, your breath, your body. Sometimes we work on chronic pain or an acute injury; sometimes we treat deep exhaustion. I help your body feel safe enough to soften—because meaningful change doesn’t come from force, but from trust. My role is to hold space while your body remembers how to restore itself. Expect warm towels, guided breathing, heating pads, optional essential oils, and an approach rooted in anatomy, collaboration, and flow.
Over the years, I’ve also trained as a yoga instructor (in the Ashtanga and Hatha styles), a birth doula (briefly—turns out I like sleeping at night), and most recently, I’ve completed continuing education in acupuncture and postpartum functional movement.
I’m queer, a parent, neurodivergent, and a recovering workaholic and people-pleaser. I know what it’s like to be touched out, burned out, and still trying to hold it all together.
Also, I love to hula hoop. Maybe not very well, maybe not consistently. But with great enthusiasm over the last nearly 20 years. Because joyful movement (aka exercise) should feel fun, not like a chore!
